Let's go fly a kite.

Last Saturday we decided to go and have a picnic at Sugarhouse Park and fly kites. So we went to Shopko and each got a $1.50 kite. Mine was an eagle and Matts was Superman. Well It all started out good, we ate our lunch and watched the birds and then it was time to go and fly our amazing kites. Well neither one of us were very good at it and mostly it was just us running with our kites on the groud behind us. One the few times that we did get our kites up they would stay up for likr two seconds and then just nose dive to the ground. After about twenty minutes both of our kites were broken on the ground, but we did find another kite that someone left broken so we fixed it up with parts from our kites and got to play with it for a few minutes but it was not any better than ours.We did have a lot of fun and a good laugh so it was worth the three dollars that we spent on them. So all in all we had a fun day.

Family Home Evening!

Well this week was our first family home evening with just the two of us. (last week we had it with the Taylors and had a lot of fun fonduing!) We have been wanting to start going on little hikes to get us ready for our trip to Canada this summer so we started tonight with Ensign Peak. We had fun together and also met a new friend that was here by himself visiting from Denver. He came to go skiing and wanted to see a good view of Salt Lake. We got to talk to him for awhile and he was just amazed at how beautiful Salt Lake is. He has been to every major city in the United States and Salt Lake was his last city. He told us that without a doubt Salt Lake was the most beautiful! It really made me appreciate what a wonderful place we live in! After our hike we went grocery shopping and came home and my wonderful husband made me dinner! It is so great to finally be married and spend so much time together without having to leave each other at the end of the night.

Our Honeymoon!

Here are some pictures from our honeymoon. We went on a cruise to the Bahamas and we had so much fun! Our first stop on our cruise was to an Island that is just own by Royal Caribbean called Cocoa Cay. We did not do any excursions on this Island but it was probably my favorite. We swam in the ocean a little but mostly we just walked around the Island. They had a nature trail that we walked down, but then we kinda got off of the trail and just walked along the beautiful beach. While we were walking we saw all kinds of sea creatures like hermit crabs, a big crab (that tried to attack me), sea cucumbers, star fish, and lots of other little fish and birds. It was a ton of fun and it was just me and Matt on the beach so that was nice. The other Island that we went to was Nassau. It was also very beautiful. While we were there we swam with string rays and we got to feed them. We also went to Paradise Island to the hotel there called Atlantis and walked around the amazing hotel and aquariums that are there. The next day was a day on the ship so we just hung out and went to some shows. The next day was the day our cruise ended so we went on an airboat ride through the Everglades in Florida. This was really cool and we got to see an Alligator so of course Matt loved it. We had a ton of fun in our honeymoon and it went by way to fast, but we are now just enjoying being together as much as possible!
